Greetings and Welcome to 2016!

By now you have probably declared that you’ll say good –bye to old habits that did not serve you well, and have made a few New Year’s resolutions in the hope that you can improve your life. If you’re like most people, those resolutions won’t last very long because you are depending on your own will power to make them happen, and if that’s all you need to succeed, then you could have changed those habits or situations long before now. So here are a couple of suggestions for you if you want to change your life for the better in 2016.

First, put your hope in God, not your will power. If you are a Believer, or want to become one, Scripture tells us that in Christ we are a new creation – not a fixed up one, or better version of one, but a NEW creation.  This new creation is powered by the Holy Spirit, under the authority of God, and in the name of Jesus.  Mark 10:27 states, “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’ ”

Second, come visit A Healing Place any Saturday morning between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m., and encounter the presence of the Holy Spirit. People come for many reasons. Some come for specific healing of physical needs. Psalm 107:20 describes, “He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.” Many physical healings have taken place since we first opened our doors in March 2012.  Just my story alone is full of several specific physical healings.  After 40 years of suffering severe symptoms from allergies, even though I tried every medicine, every shot, and nearly or all non-medicinal remedies, all to no avail, I have been healed now for three years, of having any allergy symptoms at all. My back was healed in one 15-minute session. A possibly cancerous mole at the bottom of my neck went away. Pain in my knees, which felt very arthritic, although never diagnosed, went away and hasn’t returned. Surgery on my eye went so smoothly and pain-free that except for the patch I wore the few days after, you wouldn’t even know I had surgery.  I could go on and on with the marvelous and merciful ways God has touched me physically. In 2016, God still heals diseases, injuries, and other physical needs. “Taste and see that God is good…”

Some guests come for spiritual reasons:  renewal, reconciliation, a deeper encounter, better understanding of God’s purpose in their life, and sometimes someone experiences salvation for the first time. Whatever their reason for coming, they always leave (according to their testimonies) feeling and being different in a most wonderful way than when they arrived. Psalm 103:2-4 sums it up best: “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.”

Still others come to A Healing Place because of broken relationships or broken hearts, wounded in some way on this journey called life. Or they’re just simply tired of the battle and worn out. They’re seeking what they often cannot put into words, and yet, after encountering the presence of the Holy Spirit, they leave with peace and hope for their future; new life in both their spirit and their step.    Psalm 147:3 reminds us “He –Jesus- heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Whatever your resolutions are this year – even if you resolved to not make any resolutions – I recommend adding a visit to A Healing Place to your 2016 calendar. This just might be the year and the place that God changes your life in a very extraordinary way.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 15:13

        Happy New Year!
from all of us at A Healing Place
