On Monday morning as I was
getting dressed for work, I felt a piercing pain in my right side, and I was
frozen with that pain, unable to move without sharp, painful distress. I would need to see a doctor to find out what
happened and what to do about it.
My
mind immediately went to Gary Weddell, a chiropractic doctor and a man of God
who is a gifted healer and a volunteer at A Healing Place. I was able to get in
to see him at his office within the hour. In only about ten minutes, Gary had
the problem diagnosed and “my parts back in place”. He informed me, however, that I would feel “like
a truck ran over me” for a while, and I may need to come back for more
adjustments. As it turned out, I did not have to return. I did have some
minor pain with the soreness, and some restricted movement if I wanted to avoid
pain, but I was able to finish out the work week. There were also some
interesting side effects regarding digestion and another area of my body, but I
was able to walk straight as I should and make most all of the usual movements
correctly.
On Saturday I went to A Healing Place as usual as a
volunteer. While I was there, I asked Bev (who works in Gary’s office and
is also a volunteer at A Healing Place) about some of the side effect issues.
She explained that they were normal for what I had been through. In the healing
room, the prayer ministers laid hands on me and prayed for complete healing. I
didn’t give it much thought the rest of the busy day, but as I was getting
ready for bed I realized that I no longer had any of the issues that had been
prayed for. All traces of pain, soreness, and poor functioning were gone!
As it turned out, this past week I have been called on to
do extra hard physical work that I don’t normally do, and God kept any fear of re-injuring myself far from my mind, and I realized afterward that I had
strength that I didn’t know I had, including using my back, and with no
repercussions. Praise the Lord… that’s what I call healing!
Isaiah 53:5
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was
crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds we were healed.”
